Some Definitions
filmic space
The perception and presentation of the world as it is when viewed on film. The film world is two-dimensional (flat) upon the screen, physical relationships and natural laws do not hold true, and the filmmaker has full control of what the audiences sees.
filmic time
Time that has been compressed, expanded, reordered, or otherwise altered through editing
creative geography
The creative or poetic license the filmmaker takes when re-interpreting the geography of the natural world for presentation in an audiovisual work. Some of the best examples come in chase scenes where the participants move from one location directly to another when they are not adjacent to each other in reality.
